Trusted Navigation · Expert Guidance · Care Coordination
The barriers in healthcare
are not medical.
They are navigational.
A serious illness arrives with a language you were never taught, a calendar you did not choose, and decisions that cannot wait. White Coat Advocate places a physician on your side of the table — to read the records, question the plan, coordinate the specialists, and make certain nothing about your care is decided without you in the room.
White Coat Advocate is a physician-led patient advocacy and care navigation service based in North Carolina, serving patients and families locally and nationwide through virtual and in-person advocacy.
- Physician-Led
- Board Certified Patient Advocate

Who We Help
When the stakes are high and the path is unclear.
01
A new or serious diagnosis
Cancer, a complex surgical decision, or a diagnosis nobody in the family understands yet.
02
A hospitalization in progress
Rotating teams, shifting plans, and a family trying to keep track from the waiting room.
03
Too many specialists
Four physicians, three portals, and no one holding the whole picture at once.
04
Rehab, discharge, and recovery
Discharge planning, facility choices, and the follow-up that decides whether recovery holds.
05
An aging parent far away
Adult children in another state who need one person watching the whole situation.
06
Insurance, bills, and benefits
A denied claim, a hospital bill that warrants scrutiny, or leave and disability paperwork that has to be right the first time.
These are examples, not a complete list. If you are facing a medical situation and are unsure whether physician-led advocacy could help, please request a consultation. The first conversation does not cost anything.
The Physician Founder
“I wish I had a doctor in the family.”
That is the role I set out to fill.
As a surgeon, I have cared for thousands of patients. As a patient myself, after surviving a life-threatening illness, I experienced the healthcare system from the other side of the bed. I know what it is like to ask difficult questions, struggle to understand complex medical information, and wish there were someone you trusted to help make sense of it all.

What We Do
Clarity across every part of your care.
I review the medical record, identify the questions that need answers, connect the work of different specialists, and help patients and families prepare for the decisions ahead. Support is available virtually or in person by arrangement, locally and nationwide.
Medical Record Review
A physician-level interpretation of imaging, pathology, operative notes, and labs, returned in plain language.
Second-Opinion Coordination
The right center, the right subspecialist, and the question framed so the opinion is worth having.
Care Coordination
One person holding the thread across every specialist, portal, and plan involved. Hospital advocacy during an admission, rehab and discharge navigation, appointment preparation and accompaniment, care conference representation, long-distance family oversight, and expediting appointments.
Insurance, Billing & Benefits
Understanding of coverage, prior authorizations, denied-claim appeals, bill review and negotiation, and leave or disability documentation.
The Next Step
You do not have to navigate this alone.
The first conversation is complimentary and does not commit you to anything. It simply puts a physician's judgment where it belongs: on your side.
